Chips and Beer


I don’t mean actual chips and beer, I mean chips cooked in beer! I know, who would have thought?  Why don’t you gather your friends and give this a go. You really can cook these on any cooking surface. I’m using a fire, but the principle is the same.  



Ingredients

3 russet potatoes (peeled and sliced into chip-like shapes)

1 can of beer 

Extra virgin olive oil  

Salt

Equipment:

Cast iron pan, fire pit or gas cooker

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Light your fire and let it burn down. Place your cast iron pan on the fire, and let it get hot. 

  2. Place the sliced potatoes in the pan, and pour in the can of beer. Cook until the liquid has been absorbed and potatoes start to soften.

  3. Drizzle on a little olive oil, and fry for one minute.
