Coal Roasted Pears



Ingredients

4 Bosc pears (must be this variety)

Salad, fire cheeses, or ice cream, to serve

Equipment:

Fire pit



HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Light your fire and let it burn down for about 1 hour, or until you obtain a medium heat and good hot coals. This is all about technique.

  2. Once you have HOT coals, placed the pears in the coals. (You’ll want a little fire, nice and hot.)

  3. Burn the outside of your pears until the skin almost comes away from the meat of the pear. (It creates a sort of case around the pear. This will take around 30 mins to 1 hour.

  4. Once burnt, let the pears rest for 30 mins.

  5. Serve savory or sweet. Great with a salad, fire cheeses, or ice cream.
