WILD EVENT

Valentine’s Picnic 2024

Before I was a fire chef, I was a pastry chef, and baking sweets is one of my favorite pastimes. I thought I would shake things up a bit this year by sharing some sweet recipes that you can make for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day. And if you don’t have a beau, why not celebrate love with a Valentine’s party? I gathered my neices together and we had out own little Valentine’s celebration, and it was so lovely. Perhaps you want to do what we did, and have a picnic in a field!

My neice Primrose picked the raspberry tarts as her favorite recipe of the day, and they happen to be my favorite too. I came up with this recipe in order to use up some of my excess of summer jam, and I have now been making it on the regular, as it’s easy, tasty, and the perfect gift. Other highlights of the menu included apricot upside-down tea cake, raspberry cordial, pavlova, & pikelets.

For the occasion, my friend from Rylee + Cru dressed us all in her beautiful dresses. She’s a dear friend of mine from Southern California, and wearing her dresses made our day even more special. Our shoes are Saltwater Sandals, and our hats are from Will & Bear. We styled our hats with flowers and ribbons to add a festive touch.
